BOCA RATON —
A woman was hospitalized early Wednesday after crashing into a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy’s vehicle on Interstate 95, authorities said.
The accident happened about 1:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes approaching Congress Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Quisepe Murillo changed lanes improperly and cut in front of the deputy’s unmarked vehicle, said FHP spokesman Lt. Tim Frith. The two cars crashed and rolled onto the side of the roadway.
Murillo was transported in stable condition to the trauma unit of Delray Medical Center, according to Boca Raton Fire-Rescue. The deputy, who was off duty at the time, refused treatment.
All lanes through the accident scene reopened about an hour later.
Murillo was faulted in the crash for improper lane change, the FHP said.
No other information was immediately available.
